Digital Assets: Tracking Tangible Assets with Blockchain Non-Fungible Tokens

This course helps the consulting professional describe the difference between fungible and non-fungible blockchain tokens. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are minted (i.e., created) on blockchains to represent unique digital or physical assets. Focus is given to describing the use of NFTs to track the provenance of tangible assets on blockchain. The course closely examines the creation, transfer/sale and retirement of tangible assets, and how these events in the physical world can be verified and communicated to a blockchain in a manner that establishes a reliable provenance for an asset. This helps firms support claims about an asset's origin and authenticity, which leads to better substantiated claims about its value.

Managing Consulting Engagements: IT Auditing

With the audit complexity of information technology, operations and reporting increasing at an exponential rate, the determination of whether companies’ staffs can maintain competencies in-house versus relying on outsourced consultants has become a key decision. Companies will evaluate knowledge gaps, cost and value received from external consultants. The decision to outsource a portion or all internal audit services creates the need for these engagements to be carefully planned, including a thorough risk assessment. Topics covered in this course include IIA standards relevant to managing outsourced consultants, effective communication and coordination, evaluation of successes and failures of engagements, and implementing corrective action.
Instructor: Charles Sword

Reduce Fear and Uncertainty: Managing Tech Engagements with Technophobic Clients

Do you have technology engagement clients that think “SAP” is something that comes from trees? That “Oracle” is a character in the Matrix motion picture franchise? That “blockchain” is a new NFL offensive play? That artificial intelligence (AI) is a description of their teenage children? The “reality” of most IT engagements is that outside of the core project team accountable for implementing software applications, very few of the affected staff know how the software will work or change their day-to-day jobs. The IT consultant who facilitates the recognition of the positive changes and benefits to their client becomes the trusted advisor going forward.

Alex RicheyCPA | Tax Manager
This Library introduced me to a topic area that I otherwise may not have been exposed to in my practice area. It provided me with knowledge and resources that I’m able to share with clients involved with or impacted by emerging technologies — making me a more valuable resource to them. I would recommend this Library to anyone who has clients in the tech industry or to those just looking to gain more knowledge in this area.
