Financial Reporting Entity

The financial reporting entity consists of the primary government (general-purpose governmental units), organizations for which the primary government is financially accountable (special-purpose governmental units), and certain other specially defined organizations (component units). See also primary government and special-purpose governmental unit and component unit.
