Techniques for Project Scope and Time Management
Learning objectives
After completing this course, the learner should be able to:
- Indicate the scope of a project utilizing scope documents and a work breakdown structure (WBS)
- Select scope and time parameters together due to their critical interplay
- Identify the warning signs of scope creep and typical sources, including during contracted engagements with customers
- Recognize signs of potential schedule slips and react quickly to understand causes and options
- Identify the impacts of potential scope changes versus schedule changes, and any related quality impacts, to the goals of a project and make recommendations for how the team should respond
