Board-Designated Endowment Fund

An endowment fund created by a not-for-profit entity's governing board by designating a portion of its net assets without donor restrictions to be invested to provide income for a long but not necessarily specified period. Board?designated endowments are also referred to as funds functioning as an endowment or quasi?endowment funds. See also endowment fund.
